Ministers of The Holy Communion
Ministers support our priests in ministering the Holy Eucharist. They help to distribute Holy Communion during the Mass. We have a long and strong tradition to receive communion in both species. Eucharistic Ministers distribute also outside of the Holy Mass. They carry Jesus in Holy Communion to sick and shut-in parishioners. Their ministry takes them to homes, nursing homes and hospitals. This Ministry is very important for the parish community.
Candidature Extraordinary Ministers of Communion must be an example of the Catholic Christian life and should have a deep devotion for the Eucharist: attendance at Eucharist, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Once a year there is recruitment when the parish priest enrolls new candidates. |
Induction
On a regular basis, especially before major liturgical celebrations we organize meetings for our ministers. We deepen our theological knowledge, we practice our devotion and we are trained in our ministry. This Eucharistic Minister commitment is renewed on a yearly basis. We renew this commitment during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. LEADERS: The current officers are: Leader: Kelli Lambert Assistant: |
