WALK FOR BLESSINGS
In response to the encouragement from our Bishop to make a pilgrimage during the Year of Faith to one of the designated churches, we would like to invite our parishioners to a Lenten Pilgrimage to the Our Lady of the Rosary Shrine in Verdun on Saturday 9th March.
There will be Mass at 7 am at St. Dominic’s as usual. We will begin our Pilgrimage at Mt. Tabor Moravian Church at 9.00 am. If there is a need we will organise transportation from St. Dominic’s to Mt. Tabor and back from Verdun. Alternatively parishioners may drive to Mt. Tabor where parking will be available.
We will walk to Verdun a distance of 2.2 miles (approximately 1 hour walking). While walking we will meditate on the passion of Christ and carry the cross. In Verdun we will celebrate a special Mass. Afterwards we plan a picnic, please pack a picnic lunch.
By participating in the pilgrimage you can obtain a special blessing and plenary indulgence. "...Plenary Indulgence for the temporal punishment of sins, imparted by the mercy of God and applicable also to the souls of deceased faithful, may be obtained by all faithful who, truly penitent, take Sacramental Confession and the Eucharist and pray in accordance with the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff." Therefore we are walking to the church of Our Lady of Rosary in Verdun on Saturday 9th of March.
